~ Who will be takig you on your Tongass Alaska Kayaking Adventure
Hi, my name is Scott Roberge and I own Tongass Kayak Adventures and specialize in Alaska Kayaking. I've been called an "old timer" in the sea kayak guiding world, though I prefer the term "experienced."

I began organizing kayaking, skiing and hiking trips in 1976, back when I was a broke college student who loved to get outdoors. Leading tours to great areas around the West Coast, I refined and strengthened my guiding skills.

My life changed forever when I came to Petersburg, Alaska in the summer of '81. I kayaked in an old Grumman canoe all over Southeast Alaska and through Alaska's Inside Passage and got hooked! In 1985, I started a kayak tour company and spent the next ten years teaching thousands of people to sea kayak in the waters of Mexico, the Pacific Northwest and Alaska's Inside Passage.

In those days we lived out of our van with a trailer of sea kayaks behind. We had lots of fun, but spending only three months in Alaska just wasn't enough. Today, I only organize trips out of Petersburg, Alaska, my home, through Tongass Kayak Adventures.

We are a small company that prides itself on offering the best Alaska Kayaking experience possible through the Inside Passage of Alaska. My guides are all trained in emergency first-aid and sea kayak safety. All kayak trips carry radios and wilderness emergency gear to ensure you a safe and enjoyable adventure.

Scott's pick: Even though he's paddled into LeConte Glacier Bay hundreds of times, it's still his favorite destination.
She has worked with Scott since the late 1980's. She started her paddling life on the rivers of West Virginia, but now prefers sea kayaking. LeAnn's a great storyteller (must be the West Virginian influences) and a person you will not soon forget. LeAnn's pick: Icebergs and whales!
Marja began working for us as an intern from Western Washington University where she studied Recreation and Spanish.
