Damaged, Broken, or Lost Equipment

Any and all equipment rented must be returned in the condition it is released to the renter in. Normal wear and tear is expected and WILL NOT be charged. Examples of normal wear and tear includes broken lines, plastic buckles, and lost screws. Abnormal wear and tear includes bent or damaged rudders, holes in spray skirts or kayaks, broken foot pedals, and any damage that the owner can identify as resulting from significant carelessness or abuse. We are remote and our season is short - damaged gear can negatively impact our next client's trips so we ask all our guests to treat our gear with respect.

Lost Equipment or Gear

Renter will be charged the full price of replacement of equipment or gear at MSRP.

Damaged or Broken Equipment or Gear

The ability to adequately repair a piece of equipment for further rental use will be determined by the owner. If it is determined that the equipment cannot be adequately repaired for safe return to the rental program, payment in full for the replacement of the gear will be as stated for the lost or damaged equipment or gear.

Depending on the severity of he damage, a price for repair will be estimated at the time of the return and payment will be made at that time. The cost will be determined according to estimated hours of labor needed to make the repair, materials needed, and devaluation of equipment. An invoice will be provided at the time of payment.

Exceptionally Dirty Equipment

While the equipment will be used in an outdoor setting and will therefore be exposed to dirt, sand, etc., there is a limit to how dirty a kayak or spray skirt might reasonably be expected to be returned in. Renters will be charged $50/boat for equipment returned in exceptionally dirty conditions (requiring more than 30 minutes to clean).
